Batman’s shorts?
Posted on December 1st, 2003 No commentsYou know, Bruce, that reminds me of something that appeared way back in an old issue of Fanzing.
Checking the archives, there’s an article on Batman’s crotch. What amazes me about it is the amount of images scanned and cropped to focus on Batman’s equipment. The fact that the writer mastered his composition technique in that manner is… interesting.
In any case, the point still stands, without the proper costuming down there, the entire image doesn’t look right.

Art Supplies
Posted on December 1st, 2003 No commentsFrank Cho recently passed along a link to an art supply store that has art supplies at 40% off, Curry’s Art Supplies Store. Our own Erik Burnham says that, “Some of their prices are just okay, some are way great.”
(Erik, why aren’t you posting this kind of thing here where all of the comic artists in our audience can read it?)

Pardoning the turkeys
Posted on December 1st, 2003 No commentsI never realized that the presidential turkey pardon is pretty much a feel-good hoax since food turkeys don’t live long as petting zoo birds. Frankly, with all due respect to true vegetarians out there, I think the bird’s life has more purpose if it gets eaten rather than living a few more days and then getting thrown out.

Difficult Cartography
Posted on December 1st, 2003 No commentsOver at the The Politburo Diktat, The Commissar has started a Map of the Blogosphere. I have to say that it’s pretty impressive and all but you’ll notice that we’re not on it! Then again, neither is Apologies Demanded, but what can you do about it?

‘Mario’ creator enters hall of fame
Posted on December 1st, 2003 No commentsAt the Golden Joystick awards you’d find that Nintendo has pretty much sweeped up most of the awards, including Top Publisher, and hardware of the year of the Game Boy Advance SP handheld device.
The most interesting thing is that Shigeru Miyamoto became the first to enter the Golden Joystick’s hall of fame. That’s only the least bit relevent if you’ve played any of the Mario games for the past twenty years, including Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr, that old Mario arcade game (the first three on this list were ported to the Atari 2600 system), the three Super Mario Bros games, three Super Mario Land games, two Super Mario World games, two editions of Mario Kart, Mario 64, and numerous other bits of merchandise going on and on forever and ever.
God bless capitalism.
