You’ve probably noticed that there haven’t been many posts of late and wondered why. The visitor doesn’t see this, but the site has been having problems lately. When we try to construct new posts, we often receive a 500 error. It is not known why, but we’re assuming that Powweb (our host) has changed something on their servers that causes Moveable Type weblogs to generate errors. I have been pursuing a solution to this for some time, but it could be that there isn’t a good solution as many other bloggers are getting the same 500 error.

Never fear, I will stay on top of this. Meanwhile, I encourage our contributors to keep submitting. Most posts do get caught by the system even if they aren’t instantly rendered.

Just a simple bleg (“bleg” = “weblog + beg”) to ask if anyone knows how to set TCP ports using a LinkSys Router. I have NEVER MIND – THIS LINK IS DEAD –a post on the forum about this.

  • Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim – NEW SHOWS!

Posted on January 17th, 2004 thehutch No comments

I hadn’t realized that new episodes of Adult Swim (click here for this Sunday’s schedule) have started! Oh, man, I’ve probably been missing some great shows.

Sealab 2021 has new episodes…which is weird, since Captain Murphy’s voice, Harry Goz, is dead. I’m not sure what the dilly-o is; could be that these were all in production already when Harry passed.

Here’s a clip from a new episode, “Red Dawn”

But even more exciting is the news that “Home Movies” has another new season! Sealab 2021 is entertaining, but Home Movies is just brilliant and I pray it continues for many seasons. I also hope it comes to DVD someday soon.

Clips from new Home Movies episodes:
“Everyone is Entitled to My Opinion”
    “Bye Bye Greasy”
    “Heart Smashers”
…and from last season, “Coffins and Cradles”

A final note…“Harvey Birdman, Attorney At Law” has only 10 episodes listed in the episode guide (and that’s only 1 new one since the last time I checked) and has not announced a new season as far as I can determine…but when you go to the Clips page there is a clip from an episode called “Blackwatch Plaid” which is NOT on the episode guide yet! According to the URL for this web page, it is episode 15, so there are at least 5 more episodes coming! (exxxxxcellent!)

Now, if you haven’t watched any of these shows before, a quick run-through:
HOME MOVIES is produced by the people who used to make “Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist” (although it is now made on computer instead of via that annoying Squigglevision). It is the story of an 8-year-old boy named Brendon Small who makes films in his basement with his friends Jason and Melissa.

SEALAB 2021 is based on the classic cartoon series Sealab 2020, which featured the character designs of comic book artist Alex Toth (yes, of Superfriends fame). A combination of recycled animation and computer-manipulation, the show follows a mix of greedy, sex-obsessed and insane characters. Now, I’m not saying the show is cheaply produced, but there was an entire episode that took place in the dark and another one in which the new actors revoiced a classic episode line for line. Doesn’t matter, it’s hilarious, which is why I added a bunch of Sealab quotes to our Quotator.

HARVEY BIRDMAN, ATTORNEY AT LAW is about the 1960s character Birdman…who now works as an attorney who defends other Hanna-Barbera characters who get in trouble with the law. Shaggy getting arrested for possession, Dr. Quest and Race Bannon fighting for custody of Jonny Quest, Apache Chief suing a coffeehouse because he spilled hot coffee on his lap and can no longer “enlarge”, etc.
