Organize Your Comic Collection
Posted on February 20th, 2004 No commentsI just downloaded the demo of a nifty little app called Collectorz.com’s Comic Collector. I’ve always wanted to have my collection on an easy to use database, and this software looks both easy and powerful.
The features page has all the details, but here’s what I’ve experienced:
The option to add multiple comics is a big help if you have lots of long runs where the basic info (writer, editor, penciller, etc.) doesn’t change.
But if you’re like me and want to include an anal amount of information on each comic, this software has a box to type it in–publication date, number of pages, plot synopsis, even whether or not you have loaned it out. You can also input a missed issue and uncheck the “In Collection” box! I’m assuming that you can also use “In Collection” as a filter and print a “want” list to take to conventions and such.

Happy Birthday to Eric
Posted on February 20th, 2004 No commentsMr. Spratling has a birthday today. Congrats, Eric!
Speaking of birthdays, mine is coming up in March. If anyone wants to get me a new job as an early present, I’d appreciate it! Yes, I’m job-hunting. I have no clue what this means for my time that I can spend on Monitor Duty, but if I disappear for a short while you’ll all know why.

Sucky news about Way Of The Rat, eh?
Posted on February 20th, 2004 No commentsLow sales have determined that Way of the Rat will end with #24, the end of the current story arc. The good news is that at least there will be four complete WOTR trade paperbacks.
I will really miss this book, the title I would mention to anyone interested in CrossGen or looking for a good book to add to their pull list.
And now I see that R. B. has beaten me to posting this. I don’t care, I’m posting it anyway because it includes the news about the TPBs.

WAY OF THE RAT Ending With #24
Posted on February 20th, 2004 No commentsCrossGen is reporting that Way of the Rat will end with April’s #24. This is another of CrossGen’s titles that’s ending due to low sales. Chuck Dixon will write all the issues through to the finale and penciller Rod Whigham will replace Luke Ross for issues #22 – #24. As with Brath both Boon & Po Po are scheduled to appear in Negation War.
