Which Crew Do I Belong On?
Posted on March 2nd, 2006 No commentsI don’t know precisely how Hutch ended up on Deep Space Nine and not on his beloved Babylon 5 but I know how I got my answers. (Hutched tried to rig it, too, I think).
What I don’t understand is how Battlestar Galactica got so far up on my list. I don’t watch that show; I deeply enjoy the show that I ended up crewed with. I have no idea what is what with Battlestar Galactica now except that Starbuck is now a girl and Boomer is a Cylon.

You can’t conquer Claw!
Posted on March 2nd, 2006 No commentsOver at his website Chuck Dixon has revealed that he is writing Wildstorm Comics’ relaunch of DC Comics’ old barbarian swords-and-sorcery character. There is also a preview of the cover.
Don’t forget that from a curse given him as a child, Valcan has one arm not a hand but an inhuman claw.
The original character and series was created in the seventies as a response to Marvel Comics’ possession and use of the liscense for the Conan character. It did not last very long; I am certain that this one will last much longer. The series was entitled “Claw the Unconquerable” and I believe it died from the DC Implosion and low sales.

Thank you, Target!
Posted on March 2nd, 2006 1 commentIf Target hadn’t been cleared out of Firefly box sets last week, I’d have paid $30 for it! As it is, I have a rain check in my wallet to go buy it when they restock. But it’s not going to be used because
AMAZON NOW HAS IT FOR TWENTY DOLLARS!!!!
Thank you to Mr. Arndt for sending me the link!
I don’t know how long that price will last, so grab it while you can!
Only problem is that the box set is SO cheap that you need to spend another $5 or more on something else in order to get the free shipping. If I may make a suggestion, how about “Babylon 5: Legend of the Rangers“, the awful B5 spinoff that generated zero interest in turning it into a series. It’s probably because of the weapons system on the ship which requires a kickboxer floating in zero gravity. What, it’s not piqueing your interest? No? Not even in memory of Andreas Katsulas? My, but you’re mean.
OK, how about the Home Movies box sets? I love that show, and this third season has some of the coolest animation of the show’s run.
A cheaper suggestion: I recently discovered that Michael J. Nelson of MST3K has been doing commentary on various classic movies, such as Night of the Living Dead, House on Haunted Hill and Reefer Madness. (Not yet available through Amazon: Plan 9 from Outer Space)
Here is my Serenity review, for those of you who missed it.
