(11:35:23) arndt3000: was Marvel Team-Up: Invincible/Spider-Man good?
(11:35:49) elder1938: Yeah, it was.
(11:36:01) elder1938: Like an issue of invincible rather than issue of Marvel Team-Up.
(11:36:08) elder1938: Kirkman really should stick to writing his own stuff.
(11:36:12) elder1938: It’s so much better.
(11:36:49) arndt3000: I actually said that when I read Maggin’s Kingdom Come prose adaptation
(11:37:32) arndt3000: also when I read Rucka’s No Man’s Land novel I though “Surely his own books are better than this; this isn’t an example of a ‘wowsers’-level writing career.”
(11:38:30) arndt3000: (although that one sequence where Maggin was writing the Flash certainly was better than Waid/Ross’ rendition, because Maggin is just that damn good at making the superheroic seem like a daily routine for these guys)

(11:41:16) arndt3000: can I quote you?
(11:42:36) elder1938: Sure, I guess. I just Kirkman doesn’t get pissed at me or anything…
(11:42:40) elder1938: But he’s a great writer on his Image books.
(11:42:45) elder1938: Much less so when he’s on Marvel titles.
(11:42:59) elder1938: He’s not bad, per se, just not punching at his weight.
(11:43:09) arndt3000: needs more practice you say?
11:50
(11:51:57) elder1938: I wouldn’t say taht.
(11:52:08) elder1938: I think he just needs to do things differently.
(11:52:16) elder1938: I’m not sure how I would critique it, honestly.Leave a reply
