Will DC Actually Deliver The Goods This Year? JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #10

JSA_Cv10_solicit.jpg

The official comments about the issue are: “Alex Ross joins Geoff Johns as co-writer for Part 1 of "Thy Kingdom Come," the epic story years in the making, springing from KINGDOM COME! Not a hoax! Not a dream! Not an imaginary story! Welcome the newest member to the Justice Society of America: the Kingdom Come Superman!
Coming from an Earth plagued by heroes-gone-extreme, how will this Superman react to an incarnation of the Justice Society he never knew? This Superman’s world needed better heroes.
So does ours.”

Here is hoping that the story/series is as riveting as the cover!

I’m actually very disappointed with DC on this. Kingdom Come was … ok when it came out. I wish DC would let it go and quit referring back to it. I have faith in Geoff Johns (who has become one of the big guns writers), but I wonder about this. Personally, I would much rather see Kal-L come back than this.

Wasn’t the Kingdom Come Superman a potential version of Kal-L though? Or was he a potential version of the Silver Age Superman?

    Wow.

I realize that I may be the only one, but I was slightly disappointed by Identity Crisis and underwhelmed by 52. I’m sure that Countdown is much better with Paul Dini involved, but I had to make a choice – either cut back on what I was spending so that my wife and I could afford our adoption or not. Not really much of a choice, I know, but…I think I would rather read Kingdom Come than Justice Society of America featuring the Kingdom Come Superman. I think that story should stand by itself, and not be watered down like it later was as the Kingdom one-shots. I bought ‘em, and now I’m stuck with ‘em.

I’d rather read something I enjoy than feel stuck with something.
