According to Jon Merrill's Little Lulu and Tubby Giants Index (www.hingepepper.com/Lulu3.htm), there is just one story that gives Tubby's real name. The story is reprinted on pages 120 and 121 of Little Lulu Volume 27: The Treasure Map and Other Stories, published by Dark Horse.

Also, while Murphy Anderson thinks Elongated Man and the Atom are too similar to Quality's Plastic Man and Doll Man, he said that Julie never admitted any connection. These two quotes rule out the unsourced myth that "Julie wanted a Plastic Man without knowing that they owned the original". I looked up really hard, that statement has never been linked to Julie.
I think Infantino was just blowing some steam. He has to know that Ralph fans want a classic detective with fun powers and lightheated couplehood situations, which is completely different from what Plas fans expect.

Hi, Michael,
I'm Rafa Rivas, the other greatest Elongated Man fan, the Elongated Man to your Plastic Man, if you will. I've been bloging about our favorite character in hopes to get him known among the online community.

I've been dreaming of asking Infantino precisely that question. Despite what he said to you, in "Carmine Infantino: Penciler, Publisher, Provocateur" by Jim Amash, he was asked:
JA: Did Plastic Man enter your thinking here?
CI: No, isn't that strange? It should have, but it didn't. It must have been in the back of my mind. I loved Jack Cole's work, so it must have been in my mind, maybe instinctively.
JA: Was there any discussion about Plastic Man when you did "The Elongated Man" with Julie?
CI: No, he never mentioned him. First of all, the Elongated Man was never meant to be an important character.WHEN HE BECAME ONE, we had to figure out what to do with him. John Broome did that.
I'd say that Fox did it, but it's clear, Julie, didn't want Plas. I think that the biggest difference is that one is a shapeshifter and the other a stretcher. Mr. Fantastic is the true rival of Ralph.

Hi,
I like your comparison why NetHack is different from run of the mill games. The wiki could definitely use brief introductions in NetHack, aimed at people coming from a specific, well-known game.

Would you please update your link to the NetHack wiki? It has moved to http://nethackwiki.com.

Unfortunately, our old host has a policy of leaving the old site online as a trap to unsuspecting visitors. I would really appreciate your help sending people to the active wiki and taking our Google ranking with us.

The user base voted to move because of an intrusive new skin and a bad change to the terms of service. More detail: http://nethackwiki.com/wiki/NetHackWiki:Community_Portal/Archive4#New_.22Wikia.22_aka_.22Oasis.22_skin:_Problems.2C_legal_restrictions.2C_and_tweaks

Nice podcast! On Avatar, I liked the plot, effects, etc, but agree that it can only be appreciated in the theatres. I suppose if you have 55" Flatscreen HDTV with surround sound, Blu ray, etc, you might get a decent experience. (I still have CRT, lucky me)Otherwise, a pretty good film. I can't wait for Cameron's Battle Angel http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0437086/. If even HALF of what I hear is true, it should blow Avatar out of the water!

Hey- if you're still stuck at this part, here's how to get through it:

-Jump across the grey platforms with albero, light the lantern with the blue spark, use the now accessible "R" thingy to switch to acacia.

-Use acacia's grey goo to blow out the lantern in front of the flip door.

-Now albero can light the ceiling lantern and the door opens.

I was stuck here too. I think I must have missed the bit about using the grey goo to blow out lanterns...
